Revisited UP Diliman plus Automated Guideway Transit (AGT)

Currently in Quezon City for some rest and recreation, and one of the places we visited is my former campus, the University of the Philippines in Diliman. We had our lunch at Beach House and ordered UP favorites- the barbeque and ensaladang talong (eggplant with shrimp paste, itlog na maalat and diced tomatoes). It was a sumptuous lunch, and after that we took a  few minutes worth of rest under the shades of the acacia. It’s nice to rediscover the school that molded your college life.

In other related UP news, I just read that there’s this plan to construct a railway system within the campus called the Automated Guideway Transit or AGT.  This is a 2-km test, and the construction will start July 18. perhaps this was the line that was made in the Acad Oval that we saw a few hours ago. This is a project of the University of the Philippines administration and the Department of Science and Technology. In the interim, this transit system will help serve the UP community and in the long run will act as a test for the reliability of alternative transit systems that can be used in the country.
