Originally known as the Triton and marketed as the L200 in a number of markets, this vehicle is set to conquer the market once again. The L200 is a compact pickup truck offered by Mitsubishi and designed and constructed to meet the demands of those wanting to experience the outdoors. And in order to make that happen, the designers for the L200 have set the 2011 version of the pickup to be more responsive to the needs not just of the individual but of the group as well. The end result is a vehicle that features the capacities of the pickup and having the convenience and the sophistication of a car. And in order to meet the demands of the backpackers and those who love the outdoors, the 2011 Mitsubishi L200 offers enough room at the back for loads and other forms of cargoes. This comes complete with enough brawn for towing making this an easy vehicle for towing purposes. The maximum towing capacity can reach up to 2,700 kg.
In terms of safety and reliability, there is nothing more to ask from the pickup. The promise of Mitsubishi to have a reliable pickup on and off the road has been validated by a four-star Euro NCAP rating. The handling is something worth mentioning as well. All variants of the L200 featured the 4D56 2.5 L turbocharged and the intercooled diesel engine. The engine system featured 16 valves and these are backed by the dual overhead camshafts. There is also the presence of the common-rail direct injection system and this ensures better fuel delivery and provides less emissions. Two versions of the L200, the Warrior and the Barbarian models are fitted with the high-powered versions and these ensured the better performance of these two variants of the L200. The suspension system of the L200 on the other hand is based on the Shogun. Also present are the double wishbones and the coil springs and these ensure better comfort when travelling. The rear is fitted with the leaf springs as well, allowing for payloads of one ton to be supported. Thanks to these features of the Mitsubishi L200 2011 and its safety features, the pickup was named one of the more reliable vehicles in Europe. This validates the unofficial citation on the vehicle as one of Britain’s best-selling pickups.
