The holidays are over, but the headaches for some are just starting. This is the time when Australian shoppers feel the pinch of the reckless credit card spending during the holidays. And this is compounded by the fact that 42 percent of all credit providers in Australia have lifted their rates before the year ends. Rate City, a financial comparison website has found out that around 23 providers have increased their purchase rates by an average of 25 points. And for shoppers and homeowners that relied on cards during the holidays will soon realize the impact of their actions.
But this should not be the end of the road for shoppers. There are good credit card offers just waiting to be checked. With thirteen (13) new cards introduced last year, options are aplenty for consumers. And the good news is that some of these cards offer just 10 percent or less for purchases. Other enticing offers for these new cards on the block include rewards points for every dollar spent, a frequent flyer miles (tie-up between Qantas and a credit card), petrol discounts and specialized credit cards for teens as issued by ANZ. Good credit card offers are available and it’s never too late to make that shift.
