GM to shut down factories for 9 weeks

It has been reported that General Motors considers shutting down some of its factories for nine weeks. The shut-down was considered as a response to stock-piling unsold vehicles in its factories and the slowing down of sales. It is expected that the shut-down of some of the plants may happen in May. But others are not warm to this move of the company saying that this can further pull down the revenues of the company. They are saying that this can fan the rumors that indeed the auto giant is closing down really soon. Again, this could mean that workers can be laid off once again, but at least they can still get their pay.
