Juan Carlos Ferrero of Spain managed to get past round 1 of the Monte Carlo after he defeated Michael Llodra, 6-7(5) 6-1 6-1. In fact I chanced upon the start of the end of the first set with Llodra ahead. For a moment I though that Ferrero will bow out in the first round, but on second thought, I remembered that Ferrero is from Spain and is considered as a clay court player, just like his compatriot Rafa Nadal. Indeed, Ferrero bounced back from a set down to move to the second round.
Juan Carlos Ferrero of Spain turned pro in 1998 and his favorite surface is clay. BY 1999, he was named as the ATP Newcomer of the Year and reached a career high number 1 as well on September 2003. When I checked on the other details about Ferrero on the net, I learned that his favorite players on tour are Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi. When he doesn’t hit the balls on court, he occupy himself with some interesting hobbies. He said that he likes to listen to music, watch television and likes driving his cars. By the way, he is also an avid collector of cars and motorbikes and he mentioned that his favorite car is the Renault Spider.
